Dear Earthlets,

I hope you are okay. You are like my children. Well, you are killing me. I mean, cutting the trees and stuff. You know those kill me, right? You throw recyclable stuff in the trash, even that makes a difference. So me, Mother Earth, I have three words to say to you:

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Here it goes again:

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

If you do this, it will make a huge difference. Also, if you cut the trees, the earth will get hotter. If the Earth gets hotter, the ice caps will melt. If the ice caps melt, the sea level will rise. If the sea level rises, the islands will disappear. Get it? Got it? Good.

If you didn’t get it, please read this again. Thanks for reading.

Your Mom,

Mother Earth!

That might have sounded like it was written by a little kid. That’s because it is written by one: me, 6 years ago. Here’s the unedited version:

Here is the teachers comment:

Good job Emine! Do you have any specific examples of how people could reduce, reuse, recycle?

Maybe you could add a picture.

This was a nice way to say it wasn’t detailed enough. Which is fine. She’s right.

Although it is really late, I have time to correct my mistakes: because coincidentally,  our fourth issue’s theme is #9re, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and I sent this to my teacher. We will have some articles about how you can integrate these three principles into your life, as well as other articles.

Also, if you have a writing idea in mind, just email us! We invite you all to be a part of our fourth issue!
